METIman simulates life-like situations
METIman is a human patient simulator at Mercyhealth EMS Training Center’s simulation lab. The METIman’s physiologically driven simulator offers an unsurpassed level of believability and life-like accuracy, allowing health care learners to intervene instinctively, quickly, consistently and competently with clinical measures that can save a human life.
How it’s used:
- Paramedics are able to use a new treatment procedure to help them manage the airway of very sick patients through a procedure called rapid sequence airway management.
- Treatment procedures and supporting skills are taught, practiced and evaluated by the staff of the Mercyhealth EMS Training center.
- The METIman simulator is placed in the back of an ambulance to create a simulated real-life situation. Paramedic crews provide emergency care to the human patient simulator in the environment they actually work in.
The EMS Training Center offers both adult and child patient simulators.
